Assistant Underwriter

**Salary**: £26,000

We are currently recruiting for an Underwriting Assistant on a permanent contract. This role is flexible and there is an option for hybrid/remote working.

Together, we'll be working towards providing a comprehensive service which aids our team of underwriters. This will include building a successful network of internal and external relationships; responding to a variety of enquiries and meeting high standards to ensure customer satisfaction.

Some of the day-to-day tasks involve:
- Collaborating with our Trading Underwriter team in London to deliver end-to-end policy management for large, complex corporate risks- Delivering business-important metrics alongside our management team- Spotting and driving opportunities for operational improvements- Acting on feedback from customers and sharing ideas with managers and peers- Taking personal responsibility for development in line with business strategy- Occasional requirement for travel to our London office

Skills and experience we’re looking for:
- Proven record of delivering excellent customer outcomes- Experience in building and encouraging positive internal and external relationships- Good knowledge of IT including spreadsheets; databases and word processing- Previous underwriting experience is not essential as full training will be provided- Previous experience in the insurance or financial industry is preferable but, again, not essential

What you’ll get for this role:
