Quality & Patient Safety Nurse
- BRHC (Band 6 or 7 depending on experience)

0.6 WTE Band 6 OR 0.5 WTE Band 7

The Quality and Patient Safety Lead for paediatrics will be part of a team providing support for all staff in all aspects of quality and patient safety for Bristol Royal Hospital for Children (BRHC) within the division of Women’s and Children’s Services. The post involves embedding the learning from patient safety into practice, providing expert clinical and non-clinical advice relating to the safety of patients, supporting the delivery of quality improvement initiatives and ensuring robust mechanisms are in place for the dissemination of learning from events across teams within the Division, throughout the Trust and the wider healthcare system

Working with the DHoN (Quality and PPI), and nominated medical governance leads, the post
- holder will develop and implement aspects of the Division’s s governance program thus ensuring systems and processes are in place to support a systematic approach to reporting, assessment, investigation, analysis, evaluation and management of the safety of patients throughout the Division. This includes the management of adverse events as well as setting up a system to identify and understand positive events to ensure there is learning from good practice.
- Experience at a senior level within the NHS
- Be able to communicate and work together in a multidisciplinary team
- Have experience in producing quality and complicated reports in a timely manner
- Have experience in solving problems and using their initiative
- Be competent in using computers and specialist software.
- Be able to develop their skills and participate in continuing their professional development
- Have leadership skills and can motivate and inspire the wider team
- Have Good Knowledge of the QPS reporting systems and current Models of QPS and PSIRF
