**Full time, Permanent**:
**Summer - 48 hours over 6 days per week / Winter - 26 hours over 4 days per week**:

Are you looking for a casual flexible role and be part of a lovely team that provides excellent customer care to our customers at Bridport Harbour?

If you are, then a great opportunity has arisen to join the Harbours team.
Reporting to the Harbour Master and Assistant Harbour Master the role will be varied and interesting.

You will need to be motivated and flexible in their approach to work, confident in using your own initiative and able to prioritise daily tasks

**What you can expect to be doing**:
You will be assisting the Harbour Master and Assistant Harbour Master in all aspects of managing the day-to-day harbour operations and maintenance activities.

Duties will include assisting harbour users and members of the public to supporting during emergencies and bad weather.

Brief outline of duties include, collecting harbour dues, advising harbour users, cleaning and maintaining slipways and steps and completing harbour safety inspections.

**About you**:
You will be able to demonstrate knowledge of Bridport Harbour (Westbay) and have experience of marine activities.

You will be able to demonstrate a general understanding of the workings of the maritime industry ashore, as well as an understanding of small boats and basic ship requirements.

You will be flexible and tactful and be able to deal effectively with a wide range of people.

Exact working hours have to be flexible, being affected by tides, weather and boat activity.

To cover the contingencies of the service you will be required to work evenings, weekends, Bank Holidays and statutory day working, payment for which is inclusive in the salary.

RYA Powerboat level two and VHF Marine Radio are desirable but not essential.
