Groundsperson

JOB PURPOSE
- Continuously maintaining the prestigious Cae Glas Park to a high standard of care cleanliness.
- Providing general advice and guidance to the visiting public.

KEY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

General Duties

To provide a visual presence in the Cae Glas Park and patrol and maintain the appearance of the park and associated areas at all times.

To lock and unlock the Park; to maintain and check the security of the Park.

To frequently cleanse hard surfaces, sweeping and removing debris and cleansing of green open spaces.

To empty litter and dog bins, cleanse/sweep, litter pick all associated areas by using a variety of equipment including blowers, sweepers, pressure washers etc.

To assist Council Officers in making visitors aware of Byelaws and liaise with West Mercia Police as and when the need arises.

To assist event organisers with infrastructure as specified by the Park Keeper/Operations Manager.

To provide information and guidance to the public. To undertake repair and maintenance of infrastructure as directed.

To ensure that reasonable care is always taken for the health, safety and welfare of yourself and other patrons and to comply with the policies and procedures relating to health and safety as laid down by the Town Council. Working within a variable shift and rota system as required by senior officers.

To undertake appropriate small machinery training as required.

To assist other teams within Oswestry Town Council as and when required.

To work in locations specified by Oswestry Town Council to deliver the standards and service required.

To undertake additional duties as required, commensurate with the level of role.
