The Learning Team is made up of experienced professional tutors who deliver a range of programmes to our Skylight members

**Salary**: £7,637 (£38,187 full time equivalent) per annum

**Contract**: Permanent

**Hours**: 7 hours a week

**Location**: Crisis Skylight Croydon (working from home requirements managed locally and in line with Crisis Hybrid Working Policy)

**About the role**

As Arts for wellbeing tutor, you will design and deliver a range of accredited and non accredited visual art sessions and workshops to help members increase their sense of wellbeing, whilst developing their arts and crafts skills. Your working day would be Thursdays, with an art skills for wellbeing class in the morning, and creative café in the afternoon, where members are invited to enjoy a range of arts materials poetry and crafts in a relaxed sociable setting. This class is supported by an experienced community volunteer who you will also supervise. As our arts for wellbeing tutor, you will be part of a team supporting members to end their homelessness through a strengths based mindful and psychologically informed person centred approach, and your sessions will be delivered in person at Crisis Skylight Croydon in small groups and, where appropriate, 1-1. The role involves a comprehensive induction to Crisis UK, and from time to time, additional planning training and reflection alongside your core hours.

You will be collaborating with others internally and externally to ensure that the arts for wellbeing offer is always meeting the needs of our members so making sure that member feedback informs the course delivery and design.

You will be an instrumental part of helping our members develop the confidence, self-esteem and to build resilience, to help them end their homelessness and will ensure that you are working within our Crisis Case Management Standards.

**About you**
- Understands the needs, issues and sensitivities of supporting people facing homelessness and other forms of social exclusion and develop practical solutions to address them.
- An understanding of psychologically informed approaches when working with people who have experienced complex trauma from marginalised backgrounds
- Have experience of delivering arts sessions, workshops and creative projects with personalised outcomes to support people to gain new skills and self confidence
- Knowledge of and skills in of a wide variety of visual arts practices, including arts and crafts to help people learn, progress and improve their wellbeing.
- A teaching qualification or being able to demonstrate delivering in a community-based setting.

You may have experience in; Art therapy, Mental health first aid, Community arts practice.
