Our main location is in the thriving Jewellery Quarter, Birmingham and we also have a space in Digbeth

where we go to work on larger pieces.

About You and the Role

As a Trainee Product Assistant you will support the Product Developer and Creative Director with the

creation of existing and new products such as jewellery, homeware, gifts, puzzles and accessories, using

3D printers and CO2 laser machines.

You will also be required to help set up our new and exciting creative studio/retail space in the Jewellery

Quarter.

Half of your work requires you to create cool designs using state of the art software and technology whilst

the other half will require you to get stuck in, get your hands dirty and finish the products to a high standard

ready for customers.

We are looking for someone who:

- has an interest in the creative industries particularly crafting and digital design
- is willing to learn new software and machinery to create products
- has an excellent eye for detail
- is confident in presenting and implementing new ideas
- is a team player with excellent interpersonal skills
- is highly organised, self-motivated with lots of initiative

On a daily basis you will be tasked with:

- manually preparing materials and items for production
- using digital machines to create product pieces
- compiling product items into finished products
- packing and posting products
- documenting product development processes

You will be trained in the following areas:

- using design software
- product development and digital manufacturing
- retail sales and marketing

**Skills**:
We are seeking a committed individual who is assertive, ambitious, has strong IT and verbal/written

communication skills plus a willingness to support a growing business.

**The Programme**

8-12 week course combining work-based placement, Employability Skills and Functional Skills (English and Maths). After successful completion of the course, we will put you directly into an approved apprenticeship scheme or into full-time work.

**Job Types**: Part-time, Temporary contract, Apprenticeship
Contract length: 8-12 weeks
Part-time hours: 20 per week

**Salary**: From £6.70 per hour

**Benefits**:
