Recra is working in partnership with a food manufacturing business who have been established for over 20 years, they're going through expansion and are looking to recruit a QA Supervisor to join the team and work closely with the Technical manager.

**Job Summary**:
Implementation of food safety and quality standards in line with legislation through the ongoing development and maintenance of the Quality Manual.

**KEY RESPONSIBILITIES**:

- Works with operational teams to monitor and deliver agreed quality standards.
- In conjunction with the Technical Manager, formulates and defines GMP standards.
- Monitors site hygiene standards and reports back with guidance on corrective actions.
- Manages and maintains the Site QMS implementing required procedures to ensure conformance.
- Promotes a positive food safety culture within the team, educating colleagues in line with the Company's Food Safety Culture Values.
- Manages the schedule of internal audits and the tasks of the Internal Auditor and Technical Administrator.
- Drives site preparation for retail and 3rd party audits.
- Maintains overall responsibility for the HACCP plan and Allergen risk assessment.
- Manages the QA and hygiene team to ensure that appropriate cover is available to meet operational requirements.
- Reviews and monitors activities of the technical staff to ensure compliance with Food Safety and Health and Safety policies and procedures together with competent levels of performance.
- Maintains internal and external standards (BRC and retailer audits).
- Review packing and label activities to ensure compliance with agreed technical standards.
- Monitors residual analysis and microbiology testing to ensure compliance with limits and raise awareness of trends.
- Investigate significant complaints or rejections and implement corrective actions.

**SKILLS/QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED**:

- Educated to degree level or relevant industry experience, ideally in the produce sector.
- Ability to build strong inter-departmental relationships and work with operational colleagues to address technical matters.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Methodical approach with attention to detail.
- Previous experience within a technical or food safety function.
- Previous supervisory experience is beneficial.
- This role would suit someone who already has experience leading a team of QA's and Cleaners or someone ready to take that step into management.
