**Job Overview**:
We are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Senior Positive Behaviour Support Practitioner to join our dynamic team and contribute to creating positive and inclusive environments for the individuals we support. You will play a key role in promoting a positive and inclusive environment by implementing and overseeing Positive Behaviour Support strategies. This position is responsible for supervising a team of PBS practitioners, training staff and coordinating activities aimed at enhancing the quality of life for individuals with diverse needs, including those with behavioural challenges. You will collaborate with various stakeholders to create and implement effective support plans.

**Responsibilities**:

- Design and deliver comprehensive training programs on Positive Behaviour Support principles and techniques for staff at all levels.
- Assess training needs, develop training materials, and conduct regular sessions to ensure staff competence in implementing PBS strategies.
- Provide ongoing coaching and support to staff, reinforcing best practices in behaviour management.
- Supervise and mentor junior behaviour support staff, providing guidance and support in the implementation of PBS strategies.
- Conduct regular supervision meetings to discuss cases, address challenges, and provide ongoing professional development.
- Collaborate with interdisciplinary teams to assess individuals' needs and develop person-centered, strength-based behaviour support plans.
- Ensure that support plans are tailored to each individual's unique needs, goals, and preferences.
- Review and revise support plans as necessary, ensuring their effectiveness and relevance
- Monitor the implementation of behaviour support plans and provide feedback to staff.
- Conduct regular observations and assessments to measure the effectiveness of PBS strategies.
- Address any challenges or barriers to implementation and adjust strategies accordingly.
- Establish and maintain systems for collecting and analysing behavioural data.
- Use data to evaluate the effectiveness of behaviour support plans and make data-driven adjustments as needed.
- Foster positive relationships with individuals, families, and support teams.
- Collaborate with other departments and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to support and intervention.
- Communicate effectively with all stakeholders, providing updates on progress and addressing concerns.
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date documentation of behavior support plans, interventions, and outcomes.
- Ensure that all behaviour support plans and interventions are in compliance with relevant legislation, policies and guidelines;
- Prepare regular reports for management and other relevant stakeholders, summarising key data and progress.
- Stay abreast of current research and best practices in the field of Positive Behaviour Support.
- Participate in relevant training and conferences to enhance knowledge and skills.
- Degree level qualification;
- A minimum of 3 years’ relevant experience.
- Demonstrable experience of managing /supervising a team.
- Hold a formal qualification in Positive Behaviour Support i.e. BSc in Intellectual and Developmental Disabilities, MSc Applied Behaviour Analysis, MA or MSc in Autism Studies,PBS Graduate Diploma, PBS BTEC Level 5 (advanced professional Diploma);
- Be qualified or willing and able to work towards interventions developed to support individuals with complex behaviour;
- Understand legal frameworks relevant to the role, e.g. Mental Capacity Act (2005), DOLS;
- Demonstrate the ability to complete behaviour assessment tools and write reports relating to behaviour to a high standard;
- Have direct support experience with people with learning disabilities and/or ASC and complex behaviour;
- Have experience of conducting assessments of complex behaviour and developing, implementing and evaluating interventions for individuals presenting with such needs;
- Have experience of developing and the delivery of Positive Behaviour Support training;
- Have experience of working as part of a support team providing supporting individuals with complex behaviour;
- A history of reducing the use of restrictive practices.
