At North Bristol NHS Trust, we are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Band 5 Operating Department Practitioner (ODP) to join our team on a temporary basis. This is an exciting opportunity to work at Southmead Hospital, a leading healthcare facility located in the heart of Bristol, BS10 5NB.

**About the Role**:
As a Band 5 ODP, you will play a crucial role in providing high-quality care and support to patients undergoing surgical procedures. With your extensive knowledge and expertise, you will ensure that the operating theatre runs smoothly and efficiently, maintaining the highest standards of patient safety and care.

Your responsibilities will include:

- Preparing the operating theatre and equipment for surgery
- Assisting the surgical team during procedures
- Monitoring patients' vital signs and responding to any changes
- Administering anesthesia and medications as directed by the anesthetist
- Providing post-operative care, including monitoring patients in the recovery room
- Ensuring that all documentation and records are accurate and up-to-date

**About You**:
To be successful in this role, you will need to be a qualified Band 5 ODP with a valid registration with the Health and Care Professions Council (HCPC). You should have a strong understanding of operating theatre procedures and be familiar with the latest equipment and technology.

Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are essential, as you will be working closely with patients, their families, and a multidisciplinary team of healthcare professionals. You must be able to remain calm under pressure and make quick decisions in emergency situations.

As a Band 5 ODP, you must be flexible and adaptable, as you may be required to work different shifts, including evenings, weekends, and public holidays. This includes the following shift details:

- Start Date: 28/02/2024
- End Date: 28/02/2024
- Shift Start: 08:00:00
- Shift End: 20:30:00

The payment rate for this position is £430 per shift, which will be paid through an umbrella company. We offer competitive rates and a range of benefits, including holiday pay, pension contributions, and access to employee assistance programs.
