Oxford, United Kingdom Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust Full time

This Assistant Psychologist role is based within the new Anxiety and Depression in Young People (AnDY) Research Clinic in Oxford. The Clinic is a collaboration between Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust, University of Oxford, and University of Reading. The aim of the collaboration is to establish a research-ready clinical service in Oxfordshire that can support research around the development, maintenance, prevention, and treatment of mental health difficulties in childhood and adolescence.

All children, young people, and families who use the service are invited to contribute to research in a variety of ways. This can range from using anonymised routinely collected data through to taking part in formal randomised controlled trials to evaluate treatment efficacy and effectiveness. The Clinic offers structured diagnostic assessments and brief evidence-based/informed interventions for depression and anxiety disorders.

The post-holder will work within the service providing diagnostic assessments for children and young people with anxiety and/or depression of varying degrees of severity and complexity. Assessment data will be used for clinical and research purposes.

In this role, no two days are the same. If you enjoy variety and a challenge, this is the perfect role for you. We're a friendly and approachable team, who are incredibly supportive; we know how important it is to have a good team around you to succeed and be happy at work.
1. Support and enhance the professional psychological care of clients within the service, across all sectors of care.
2. Provide psychological assessments under the supervision of a qualified professional psychologist.
3. Assist in clinically related administration; conduct of audits; collection of statistics; development of audit and/or research projects; teaching and project work.

At Oxford Health NHS Foundation Trust we want to employ people not just with experience, but with the aptitude and motivation to succeed and whose values resonate with our own.

We have plenty of learning opportunities and there are always projects available for you to get involved with to really help progress your career. You'll also be able to network within most services of the Directorate, meaning you'll be exposed to how we support mental health across Oxfordshire and the South West.

Oxford Health has a duty of care to its employees and takes this seriously. The trust has a lead for equality and diversity, fair treatment at work facilitators, and staff equality networks.

There is a Health and Wellbeing hub as well as the occupational health department. The Health and Wellbeing hub promotes physical wellbeing (providing for example supported exercise guidance and advice), emotional wellbeing (for example an independent and confidential 24 hour Employee Assistance Programme and a Stress Steering Group) and organisational wellbeing (monthly newsletter and staff benefits)
