1. To meet the personal care needs of residents in a way that respects the dignity and privacy of the individual and promotes independence and choice.
2. To assist in securing and sustaining the home for the residents, and to promote a caring environment through the highest standards of professional practice conducive to the physical, emotional, social, intellectual and spiritual needs of the residents.
3. To assist all staff members to ensure that each resident receives care appropriate to his or her individual need.
4. To carry out instructions in accordance with the residents’ Care Plan under the supervision of the management team.
5. To carry out other duties as and when required by any person that you report to.
6. To work to an agreed schedule and rota.
7.To follow policies and procedures.

Job Role
a) Assist residents who need help with dressing, undressing, bathing and toileting.
b) Provide assistance to residents with mobility problems and other physical disabilities, including incontinence; help in use and care of aids and personal equipment.
c) Care for residents temporarily sick and needing, for example, minor dressings.
d) Assist residents who are terminally ill.
e) Help in the promotion of mental well being and physical activity of residents through positive conversation, taking them out, sharing with them in activities such as reading, writing, hobbies and recreations.
f) Participate in the development of activities for residents in which they can join and which will enhance their quality of life.
g) Inspect, launder and mend residents’ clothing where permission has been granted.
h) Serve meals to residents; assist in the feeding of residents who need help; prepare light meals.
i) Report on each resident you have been responsible for to the Senior Carers at the end of each shift and be present and participate in the handover procedure.
j) Deal with and report minor accidents in accordance with the First Aid policy and Accident Reporting Procedures.
k) Assist residents who need reassurance and comfort.
J)Document resident daily reports
