Marina Operative

Marina Developments Ltd is the UK’s leading Marina operator. Torquay Marina is in the heart of Torquay Harbourside, a busy Devon town in the wider area of Tor Bay. Sheltered from the Northerly winds and offering safe access in all weathers, the 398-berth marina is the perfect base for our customers.

We currently require a **Marina Operative **to join the Team working at our MDL - Torquay Marina.

You will be based at Torquay, which is a high profile, busy site, situated in Tor Bay making it a popular visitor destination. You may be required to also work at Brixham Marina from time to time. Our aim is to deliver the highest level of service to our customers, which demands the best from our team every day.

Covering the day shift requires working 12-hour shifts, 4 days on 4 days off, 8am-8pm. The successful applicant will be required to attend a 3-day First Aid at Work Course, health and safety training and familiarisation training in the first month. The successful applicant will also be required to occasionally cover the night shift (8pm-8am) - to assist covering holidays and sickness

The role will include:
Ø Overseeing the berthing allocations of vessels - including meet and greet

Ø Maximising berth sales and visitor income

Ø Assisting in actively marketing and promoting the marina and associated services

Ø Maintaining the security of the site

Ø To ensure all legal, HSE and company policies including financial are being adhered to

Ø Serving fuel

The key requirements for this role are:
Ø An ability to deliver the highest standards of customer service

Ø Good practical boating skills

Ø Self-motivated and able to work without supervision

Ø Innovative in your approach to solving problems

Ø Current computer literacy

Ø A practical, resourceful and common-sense approach

Ø Enthusiastic and friendly with a flexible and positive ‘can do’ attitude

Ø Ability to swim
