Accounts Supervisor

FRS are currently recruiting an Accounting Supervisor for a global insurance company based on the outskirts of Northampton.
Due to changes in the business we are looking for an I.T savvy Accounts Supervisor who can support 2 Accounts Assistants during a 3 month transition period between an old system and new one utilising software called Ignite.
Other software experience: Workday advantageous
Duties Include but are not limited to:
Monitoring / Oversight
- Maintain an accurate general ledger including various reconciliations.
- Manage, support and mentor the accounting assistant role to expand skills and responsibilities of the role.
- Ensure adherence and recommend improvements to established financial policies and procedures.
- Research and analyse variances and unusual trends in financial reports.
- Keep abreast of and respond to changes in technology, regulations and business operations in the UK which may impact Accounting.
- Primary point of contact for the audits of HIL and HIHL.
- Active participant in the successful launch of Ignite policy system.
Transactional
- Prepare workpapers, journal entries and reconciliations as part of the month end process.
- Compile, reconcile and record monthly sales bordereaux, submit to carrier partners, and coordinate timely settlement.
- Reconcile amounts due from Brokers with emphasis on timely collection and follow up on past due balances.
- Prepare and compile documents for annual audit.
Management Reporting
- Prepare financial reports and variance analysis for management.
- Engage regularly with FP&A sharing financial results & future expectations.
- Support HIL’s growth by attending strategy meetings and sharing financial information to support long and short-term decisions.
- Provide weekly updates on Sales performance to plan and prior year.
- Deliver performance reports in the UK Monthly & UK leadership meetings.
- Coordinate with FP&A in preparation of annual budget & reforecasts.
- Preparation of audited UK GAAP financial statements (HIL and HIHL).
Compliance
- Assist in the preparation and filing of statutory and regulatory filings including FCA, Companies House, and corporation taxes (supporting US tax team).
