We are currently recruiting for a Refugee Resettlement Coordinator on behalf of our public sector client based in Barking.

Key duties will include:

- Lead on the coordination of move on support, interventions and wraparound support for families and individuals finding sanctuary in the borough as refugees
- Develop a support pathway for refugees and resource appropriate support
- Coordinate the development of support plans for asylum seekers and refugees to assist with successful resettlement in the UK, working with the Home Office, Ready Homes and other partners in preparation for offers of settled accommodation and proactively assisting refugees to remain in their accommodation, prevent homelessness and work towards self-support
- Work alongside partners and community leaders to shape and influence support arrangements
- Work with multi-agency partners to enable smooth, effective and efficient integration within local communities
- Develop and maintain positive working relationships and liaison with partners and stakeholders
- Represent the organisation on site and on an outreach basis
- Assess individuals' needs and decide on the appropriate course of action to support them, taking responsibility for individual cases to ensure they receive the appropriate support at a time of crisis and assist as required in activity undertaken by the organisation or its partners to deliver the requirements of the Home Office wrap-around support offer
- Assist in arranging activities, providing local integration support and coordination donations and offers of support from the local community
- Ensuring bespoke integrated support plans are in place for each family or individual, with regular check-ins, to facilitate integration and orientation into their new home/area
- Ensuring interpreting and translation services are available
- Working proactively to ensure the success of placements and reducing the potential of hosting breakdowns and the use of homelessness pathways

Key Experience required:

- Experience working within a social work, safeguarding, housing and or employment support related service
- Detailed understanding of safeguarding, risk assessment, information sharing, etc
- Awareness of asylum seekers/refugee support initiatives
- Ability to engage with community partners to prevent escalations into acute services
- Understanding of the complexities of working in a political environment, skills in understanding responding to different perspectives
