Quality Controller

This is a full time and permanent position, working 5 days a week across a 7-day production, including weekends. The pay for this role is £9.60 an hour for all new starters, which will further increase to £9.85 an hour after 13 weeks training and Level 2 food safety are complete.
**Key responsibilities of the job**:
- Responsible for the entering all the correct traceability details on the Stevens traceability systems on the production lines and highlighting issues to the Traceability and Stock Controller/Quality Manger.
- Checking all stock coming to line is within its expiry date and has traceability details notifying any issues to the on-shift QA or Quality Manager/Quality supervisor.
- Responsible for the quality of the products on the production lines by patrolling the lines and highlighting issues to supervisors and operators.
- Conducting random inspections and product checks during production run to ensure quality and consistency is being maintained against specifications.
- Responsible for completing all daily product weight checks and documenting on the correct paperwork.
- Ensuring that all CCP5 Metal detection failsafe checks, start of shift, hourly verification and end of shift checks are completed to the required standard and frequency as per the procedure.
- To ensure policies and procedures relating to quality, food safety and H&S are being adhered to during line operation. Especially during changeover and line clean downs. Reporting issues to Production supervisors, QA’s/Quality Manager
- To support production with normal operations and any problems that arise (escalating to QA/ Quality Manager if necessary)
- Carry out any other reasonable tasks that are required as part of the needs of the business.
**Key Skills**:
- Experience of working in a food or quality environment is advantageous, however full training will be given.
