Sewing Machinist

Due to a increase in demand we are recruiting for an experienced machinist to join our team at Modus.

**Role summary**

—
To cut and sew fabrics for furniture manufacture on flat and overlock machines including using cutting machine.

Your role will include
—
- Cutting and shaping materials with hand and machine tools
- Working out the quantity and type of materials needed
- Setting cutting machine to correct pattern taking account of material type
- Sewing different fabric types and pieces for upholstery section
- Changing machine settings for different jobs
- Checking finished work against the pattern instructions
- Cleaning and routine daily maintenance on machines
- Sewing different fabrics like cotton, wool, leather or industrial têxtiles
- Conduct all duties in compliance with Good Manufacturing Practice (GMP) and internal Quality requirements.
- Maintain accurate and legible records
- Participate in the routine cleaning of the Production area and warehouse
- Working from technical drawings
- Compliance with all health and safety requirements

You need experience in
—
- Cutting skills
- Sewing skills - flat bed and overlock
- Must possess excellent levels of literacy
- Numeracy and communication skills.
- The ability to follow written instructions and record activities performed.
- Flexibility in accordance with Company requirements whilst exhibiting a ‘can do’ attitude

**Job Types**: Full-time, Permanent

Pay: £12.00 per hour

Schedule:

- 8 hour shift
