We are looking for a Catholic Chaplain with excellent communications skills, emotional intellect and pastoral skills with knowledge of wellbeing provision within an education setting. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who wants to make a significant contribution both to the ethos of our college and to building a community for our students and staff.

You will be responsible for supporting and developing the Catholic identity and ethos of the college and play a significant and highly visible role in the day-to-day Catholic life of the Chaplaincy and college community. Responsibilities will be centred around building community for all students, engaging in outreach and social action initiatives, and encouraging prayer, worship, and faith exploration on campus. This includes supporting, devising, developing and promoting a wide range of Chaplaincy activities which appeals to our students and the staff and wider community of the college.

This role is highly visible within the college and you will spend most days engaging with our staff and students. As such you will need to be approachable and compassionate, whilst at the same time professional with the skills and experience to deal with a wide range of people.

To be successful in this role you will need to be an efficient organiser, both internally with respect to events, charity fundraising, student groups; and externally, liaising with staff at the Cathedral, the Diocese, multi-faith advisors, the wider community and other stakeholders. The range of activities will require you to be capable of independent, proactive work, using well-developed skills of personal organisation and time management. You must have a good knowledge of the teaching of the Catholic Church, a knowledge of current working practices for celebrating Masses and liturgies, and a confidence in sharing your own faith with others. This should be combined with experience of working with people in a Catholic context and experience of both working independently and part of a team, particularly with regard to organising and running events. High levels of personal integrity and well-developed communication, organisational and administrative skills are essential.

This is a reserved post and can only be filled by a practising Catholic.

Become part of a college that is passionate about providing the best experience to our students.

We are currently consulting on a pay award so the above salary is not final.

Interviews will be held as soon as possible after the closing date.
