We are working for a family run general store at Hovingham (near Malton) who require a Shop Manager to manage their busy village store. If you enjoy managing people, coming up with new ideas and having freedom in your role then this could be for you.

In this role as Store Manager you will be:

- Supervising the staff in the shop and ensuring that customer are served in a warm and friendly manner
- Serving customer and working as a team
- Ordering a variety of stock from local suppliers
- Replenishing stock on shelves and ensuring that shelves look inviting
- Undertake relevant Health and Safety reviews of stock and shop environment
- Undertake staff recruitment and training to ensure customer service is fantastic
- Liaising with the owners to discuss ideas on improvement and reporting on shop performance
- Balancing of cash and transactions
- Innovating and creating new ways of working
- Promoting a fun and positive environment

To be successful in this role of Store Manager you will:

- Love being in a busy and bustling shop
- Have excellent people management skills with a mature and credible management style - this is your shop to manage
- Have exceptional customer service skills gained in a public facing retail environment
- Be willing to undertake a basic food hygiene certificate training
- Fantastic organisational and logistics skills
- Be a team player with a fun and sunny disposition
