Law firms in England & Wales have the challenge of managing their clients’ money and also the firm’s money. Their procedures for doing so are regulated by the Solicitors Regulatory Authority (SRA) and there are significant consequences on the law firms if the regulations are not applied correctly - that’s where we come in. The Cashroom is an outsourced legal cashiering firm and we provide an expert service, managing these monies on behalf of law firms in accordance with the published regulations. **The Role**

This role is a perfect starting point for school or college leavers looking to start their career with a growing company which will offer lots of scope for progression.

**For our Trainee Bookkeeper role, we will be looking for you to have the following**:

- Strong numerical skills
- Excellent communication skills
- A high level of accuracy and attention to detail
- Ability to work well independently and within a team
- Strong IT literacy (Excel, Outlook, etc)
- A desire to learn quickly and work hard in a fast-paced business
- Grade C/5 (or above) in GCSE Maths and English
- An interest in pursuing a career in finance/accounting

**The following are also desirable**:

- Experience working in a busy office environment
- An aptitude for problem solving
- Good time management skills
- A positive, can-do attitude
- Posting Client & Office account transactions to Practice Management Systems
- Assist with Daily bank reconciliations
- Bank payments (BACS & CHAPS) and transfers between accounts
- Payment of professional disbursements in line with Solicitors Accounts Rules (SARs)
- Develop knowledge of SARs
- Assisting with month end processes
- Liaising with fee earners & support staff
- Ad-hoc duties as required
