An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Resuscitation Service for a full time band 6 Resuscitation Practitioner based at UHCW NHS Trust.

The post holder will be working as part of the team in the Resuscitation Service and will support the Lead Resuscitation Practitioners in the organisation and delivery of resuscitation training. Their role will primarily be the coordination of Adult resuscitation training to all staff groups (including nursing, medical staff and allied health care professionals), both internal and external to the organisation. This will also include supporting the paediatric Resuscitation practitioner to deliver paediatric resuscitation training.

Applicants should be Advanced Life Support (ALS) providers, as the role will involve attending cardiac arrest and medical emergency calls within the trust.

The role requires the post holder to work autonomously and flexibly to ensure that all resuscitation training is delivered to meet the needs of the service and optimise compliance.

The post holder will be required to participate in undertaking audits such as compliance with daily checking and stocking of cardiac arrest trolleys and will be involved in research where relevant. The post holder will be responsible for the organisation, set up and maintenance of resuscitation equipment used in the delivery of training. In addition they will provide and maintain an efficient and effective service which meets departmental, trust and national standards, policies and procedures.

Clinical/Professional
1. Act professionally, maintaining accountability for own actions in accordance with the relevant Codes of Professional Conduct. Contribute to corporate objectives, acting within local, Trust and statutory guidelines and policies at all times.
2. Maintain an identifiable clinical presence and undertake relevant clinical activities to maintain own clinical competency
3. Ensure that evidence based practice is developed and implemented to improve patient care
4. Manage and prioritise standard workload, escalating any issues to the Lead Resuscitation Practitioner when required.
5. Attend adult cardiac arrests/medical emergencies which may involve activities such as performance of cardiac chest compressions and running to emergencies.
6. Support staff during difficult situations during training and/or the clinical environment. Escalate issues when appropriate and use clinical incident reporting as appropriate.
