Handyman/woman

This role is to provide a responsive maintenance/handyperson service in respect repairs, and grounds maintenance at Ashcroft House Care Home.

The role includes all aspects of maintaining the building and surrounding areas to a high standard. This includes painting, clearing blockages, ensuring clear and safe access to the building, understanding the heating and electrical plant and making adjustments where necessary, reporting defects to the manager, maintaining appropriate records and undertaking minor repairs. You will also be responsible for some regular Health and Safety checks to the building and grounds.

You will need to have a good knowledge of all aspects of building maintenance and preferably have a knowledge of basic Health and Safety checks to residential buildings.

You will have a current driving licence and have access to a vehicle for work purposes.

You will need to be empathetic and have a considerate nature and to be happy working in an older persons care home setting.

Part-time hours: 12-20 per week
