**About this role**

This role will sit in the UK Upstream Corporate Relations (CR) Team and will be based in Aberdeen. The Corporate Relations team in Aberdeen provides support to all of our North Sea operations in the UK. The key dimensions of this team includes maintaining license to operate for our conventional oil and gas operations, supporting the development of the regulatory and policy framework for emerging low-carbon opportunities such as Carbon Capture and Storage (CCS) and hydrogen and providing CR support to projects and operational issues across the business.

This role is an excellent opportunity for development in a range of CR competencies as part of a team with a broad spectrum of expertise. The UK Upstream CR team provides a wide range of support to a dynamic operating business, including internal and external communications, reputation management, social performance management of non-technical risks, policy development and managing stakeholder and Government Relations.

**Key Responsibilities**

The CR Advisor is responsible for:

- Planning and implementing internal communications for the Aberdeen Campus and ensuring it is integrated with the wider Shell UK Corporate Communications strategy.
- Owning internal communications channels and ensuring effective monitoring and community management is in place.
- A focal point for content across Upstream and Shell’s wider presence in, and contribution to, Scotland. Developing key messaging documents and supporting development of comms materials for key internal engagements and briefings, e.g., quarterly staff engagements.
- Be an active member of teams supporting projects or activities issues which impact the workforce, e.g., support change projects.
- Individual will be expected to contribute to wider team objectives which will include external communications and support for significant events like Offshore Europe and the Girls in Energy Conference.
- In line with other team members, there is an expectation that individual will be part of the Emergency Response Duty Rota for the Upstream business, covering approximately six weeks of on call cover per year.
- Opportunity to develop Crisis Management experience through being a member of the communications support for the UK Crisis Team.
- Support effective liaison between Employee Networks and business and HR to support the networks in their strategies, keeping groups aligned and informed.

**What we need from you**:

- Proven skills in developing and delivering creative content development across a variety of formats and materials along with experience in project management to execute in an effective and timely manner.
- Ability to effectively project manage, both project specific and ongoing implementation of internal comms plan.
- Strong writing skills with the ability to create innovative, human and compelling stories.
- Experience in business partnering, including the ability to form and sustain relationships with business and function leaders based on trust, knowledge and understanding.
- Ability to form strong internal relationships and work across organisation boundaries.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver results under time pressure and juggling deadlines and competing interests while maintaining a good directional overview.
- Curiosity to understand Shell’s businesses and functions, to assist in effectively translating their needs into relevant communication objectives and outcomes. Experience in business partnering, to work alongside other parts of the Upstream business.
- A learner mindset: being a role model in your levels of curiosity and reflection and being able to learn from mistakes and successes.
