The role will be full time (40 per week) Monday to Friday normally 8 am to 5pm with an hour for lunch. However some flexibility may be required at busy times to meet deadlines.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Load containers with a variety of goods ensuring maximum efficiency both in terms of time and space, making sure loads are safe and damages during transit are prevented. Review outbound paperwork to ensure that the correct goods/quantities are being loaded.
- Receive and unload goods arriving at the warehouse either by container, trailer, or other vehicle. Refer to delivery paperwork to ensure the correct goods/quantities have been received, report any discrepencies promptly.
- Check incoming goods and outgoing shipments for damaged items. Take appropriate action.
- Store received goods in the appropriate locations within the warehouse. - Move and rearrange stock, either by hand or by Forklift or other equipment.
- Maintain accurate records through regular stock checks. Assist with maintaining computerised and paper records. Report any discrepencies.
- Take steps to ensure all items required are easily located in the warehouse aiming always for rapid turnaround, with maximum efficiency and accuracy.
- Pick and pack items as required. Repack items for onward transport.
- Load correct goods onto trucks for onward transport, liasing with others or referring to paperwork to ensure loading requirements are met.
- Ensure every item received, moved or loaded out is recorded accurately.
- Keep the warehouse and loading area clean, safe and tidy reporting any damage to warehouse structure immediately. Ensuring that forklift driving areas are free from spills, obstructions or other hazards.
- Work effectively as part of the warehouse team, collaborating with other team members and other teams to facilitate smooth operations
- Operate warehouse equipment, forklift, pallet trucks in a safe and efficient manner.
- Adapt to changing priorities, workloads and work calmly and effectively during high-demand period.

**Skills, Qualifications and Experience**

**Essential**
- 2+ years practical experience in a Warehouse Operative role in a fast paced environment.
- At least 12 months experience of container unloading/loading with the use of a forklift
- Forklift licence
- Well organised, self-motivated and able follow instructions closely
- Safety conscious.
- IT skills for data entry
- Excellent attention to detail, methodical
- Able to work alone but also as effectively as part of a team.
- Good customer service skills
- Patience and the ability to remain calm under pressure.
- Able to communicate effectively in English both orally and in writing
- Ability and willingness to undergo appropriate on the job training

**Desirable**
- GCSE grade C (or equivalent) as a minimum in Maths and English.
- Experience of working within the area of general haulage
- Good multi-tasking and organisational skills to ensure goods and workloads are organised for maximum efficiency.
- Previous experience of strapping and securing a load on an HGV/Van would be an advantage although training will be provided.
- Driving Licence would be an advantage as there may be an opportunity for some van driving to cover holiday periods.

**Salary**: £27,000.00-£30,000.00 per year
