If you are an experienced **SEND Job Coach** with a person-centred approach who enjoys supporting and effectively preparing learners in securing employment pathways, then look no further. The role of SEND Job Coach will have a significant emphasis on supporting the learner’s journey in line with their aspirations.

The post holder will work closely with learners, parent-carers and housing providers to provide support to identify employment opportunities. You will also engage with employers as well as work closely with internal and external stakeholders to create and nurture opportunities.

Based in Surrey, the Orpheus Centre is an independent specialist college that focuses on developing independence skills through performing and visual arts and makes dramatic improvements to young disabled adults’ lives.

We believe that every young disabled person should have the same opportunities as their non-disabled peers and we offer a personalised study programme focusing on building independence, communication and social interaction skills through the arts, supported housing and a personal care service.

**21 hours (3 days) per week / 52 weeks per year**

**The post demands a high level of flexibility and ability to adapt to changes due to service needs**

**Salary: £13,200 per annum (FTE £22,000)**

**Essential qualifications, knowledge and experience**:

- Level 2 English and math qualification
- Experience of working with disabled people and an understanding of equal opportunities and safeguarding practice
- A minimum of one years’ proven experience of working in an educational setting with adults
- Experience of record keeping and incident reporting
- An understanding of the potential challenges faced by disabled people when trying to get into employment
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work well in a team and foster good relationships within a multi-disciplinary environment
- Excellent interpersonal skills that can be used to engage with a wide range of audiences.
- A full driving licence is required
- Self-motivation, decision making skills and the ability to work as part of a team
- Experience working in further education with young adults with learning and/or physical disabilities is desirable.
