Role overview

As Chief of Staff (CoS) to the Bupa UK Market Unit (BGUK) CDIO, you will play a key role in driving this transformation. You’ll act as a trusted advisor to both the BGUK CDIO and COO for BGUK Technology to drive engagement and effective communication across the function. With a focus on people change, you will enable to function to achieve its key strategic and transformational objectives.

What you’ll do

Working closely with the BGUK Tech Leadership Team BGUK Technology Senior People Business Partner, the Chief of Staff will scope, define, and drive the people change priorities that enable our goals.- Develop a vision, purpose, and brand for BGUK Technology which our people can be proud of and which brings to life our critical role in creating the world’s most digitally connected healthcare organisation.- Scope, define and manage the people change activities required to deliver the BGUK Technology strategy and transformation programme, harnessing existing skills and establishing a confident change culture at all levels in Technology.- Contribute to the development, definition, and implementation of the BGUK Technology Operating Model.- Build and foster a culture of innovation, continuous improvement, and sustainable change (for example by establishing communities of practice).- Collaborate with the People Business Partner for Technology in supporting BGUK Technology Leadership to build a diverse and inclusive environment and a high-performance culture.- Implement a new sourcing strategy, mobilising and establishing the sourcing team.- Lead and manage the CDIO’s communications responsibilities, including internal documents, board papers, talks and presentations and external stakeholder management. This will also include working closely with the BGUK CDIO Business Manager to prepare the BGUK CDIO and COO for BGUK Tech for meetings, visits, and offsites.

What you’ll bring- Experience of leading all or part of multi-dimensional transformation programmes, preferably in Financial Services.- Experience of working with / deep understanding of Technology Functions within large matrixed organisations.- Demonstrated understanding of programme and project methodologies and the ability to establish the governance, tools, and techniques to ensure delivery.- Excellent problem-solving skills, judgement, high EQ, and interpersonal skills- Experience of working in a cross-functional business environment.- Able to hold to account senior leaders who have responsibility for day-to-day decisions and implementation of initiatives.- Strong collaboration, influencing and stakeholder management skills.- Strong leadership with the ability to build, develop, lead and motivate teams.- Experience of using data and insights to drive portfolio management and decision making.
