**Job summary**:

Our HR Department is seeking motivated and ambitious HR Advisors to provide first-line, critical guidance and support to employees and line managers within DBT.
- The Resourcing Hub, which provides a range of services to help managers attract, source and hire the best talent
- The HR Advisory & Casework Service, which provides advice to managers and employees on a range of HR Policies, supports on complex people issues and ensures access to the right services at the right time
The knowledge gained can be used as a gateway into a future career path within the HR profession in the Civil Service.
**Job description**:
- Monitor and manage high volumes of requests and queries coming into shared team mailboxes.
- Assist employees with a variety of queries relating to the employee life cycle such as recruitment, onboarding, performance development, managing attendance, learning and development, diversity and inclusion, and employee engagement; working closely with internal and external stakeholders as and when required.
- Produce management information and analyse data as and when required.
- Manage own workload by prioritising queries and requests based on the level of urgency and escalate any urgent issues to the relevant person, team, or manager.
- Assist employees with accessing HR self-service systems, providing guidance and support.
- Contribute towards the continuous improvement of HR policies, projects, systems and processes.
- Work collaboratively and build strong relationships with teams within DBT, the wider Civil Service and external stakeholders.
- Other duties may include providing wider support across the HR Team which may include (but not limited to) issuing HR letters, booking meetings and dealing with general HR related queries.
There will be no line management responsibilities for these posts.
**Hybrid Working**
The role will be based in either Darlington or London.
Please be aware that this role can only be worked from within the UK and not overseas.
Informal hybrid working arrangements will be available as agreed with the vacancy manager and in line with the requirements of the role.
Most DBT employees will be working a hybrid pattern, spending 2-3 days a week (pro rata) in an office, on average.
**Contracts**
There are 5 roles on offer:
- One role as a HR Advisor, which will be offered as an 18-month Fixed Term Appointment
- Two roles as an SCS Resourcing Advisor, which will be offered as a 12-month Fixed Term Appointment
- Two roles as a Resourcing Advisor will be offered as a 12-month Fixed Term Appointment
**Person specification**:
**Essential Criteria**
- Experience working with a diverse range of stakeholders or customers.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor communications appropriate to the audience and circumstance.
- Confident with the use of Microsoft programmes such as Outlook, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
**Desirable Criteria**
- Experience of working in an HR or Corporate Services role.
- Experience of working in a fast-paced environment.
- HR qualification or willingness to work towards one.
- Current knowledge of employment law and HR best practice.
- Ability to produce and analyse large data sets.
**Personal Attributes & Skills**
- Self-motivated and able to work with mínimal supervision.
- Ability to work well under pressure in order to manage competing priorities and deadlines.
- Excellent organisational skills.
- Team player and ability to build and maintain professional working relationships internally and externally.
