**Job Title**: Procurement Specialist

**Salary**: Dependent on experience

**Purpose of the Job**:
The primary aim of this role is to ensure that our company's assets have the necessary goods and services to meet production plans efficiently, including TAR and maintenance, and the Capex portfolio supplied at optimal value. You will be accountable for the strategic development, negotiation, delivery, and ongoing management of key third-party goods and services.
- **Technical Skills**:_
- Preferably MCIPS qualified or equivalent chartered membership or QS qualifications.
- Previous procurement or quantified surveyor experience (10+ years) in a large complex manufacturing environment, dealing with contract negotiation and management is desirable.
- Responsibility for a range of material & equipment commodities (e.g. valves, electrical, mechanical, heat exchangers, piping bulks, rotating equipment, etc.).
- Strong IT skills including Excel, Word, SAP & database analysis would be advantageous.
- Identification of total cost ownership.
- Knowledge and understanding of the NAECI ("the blue book").
- Deep understanding of the cost drivers on contracts to demonstrate transparency and overall value.
- Expert, advanced negotiation skills and techniques.
- Sound understanding of company policies, site safety standards, and legislation is advantageous.
- Experience in supporting capital project activities.
- Awareness of logístical/haulage agreements.

- A self-starter who works effectively in ad hoc multi-disciplinary teams, providing the team direction and focus to achieve overall objectives.
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to react quickly and work to tight deadlines.
- Ability to drive performance and positively influence other stakeholders outside of the line to achieve positive results.
- Experience in streamlining and optimizing existing processes (Continuous improvement).
- Ability to test and challenge outside of the norm.
