Early Morning Cleaner

**£10.50 per hour including holiday pay (Actual salary £10,920 per annum.)**

**_Hours of work will be 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday 05.00 - 09.00 (52 weeks). However, these times may vary slightly from time to time to suit the needs of the business._**

Lancing College are seeking to recruit a dedicated Early morning cleaner as a member of our central cleaning Team.

**The Role**

The department covers a diverse range of support functions, including all aspects of housekeeping and cleaning. The cleaner will work within a team to upkeep both the internal and external areas of the main College and Nursery (Little Lancing).

**Duties will include**:

- Cleaning of designated areas that may change from time to time to include Offices, common rooms, corridors, stairs, bathrooms, toilets, showers, kitchens, hard and soft flooring, public areas and teaching rooms.
- Dusting, mopping, sweeping, vacuum cleaning.
- Internal window cleaning.
- Taking recycling and general waste to appropriate collection points.
- Daily sanitisation of surfaces and touch points to protect children, staff and visitors from possible exposure to viral infection.
- Deep cleaning areas that are known to have been exposed to viral infection.
- Maintaining cleaning equipment.
- Ensuring areas are kept secure.
- Observing and complying with the college’s Health and Safety policy and Code of Practice.
- Observing COSHH regulations and the safe use of chemicals and PPE.
- Taking part in training as required
- Any other duties as assigned by the line manager.

**About You**
- Knowledge of COSHH (desirable)
- Previous cleaning experience (desirable)
- Experience of working in a customer service environment.
- Customer service oriented with polite, friendly communication skills and a “can do” attitude.
- A team player
- Willing, positive, cheerful and adaptable.
- Committed to providing a quality service right down to the small details.
- Proactive in seeking service improvements.
- Flexible approach in meeting customer needs.
