Wholesale Nursery Horticultural Supervisor

We are a wholesale nursery based on two sites near Chorley, Lancashire. We grow shrubs and perennials and supply to the amenity and retail market in bulk.

Hic Bibi began 36 years ago as a Hebe specialist grower and has developed over the years to other lines of shrubs and then perennials to supply a well known supermarket chain.

As Hic Bibi is a wholesale nursery, we are not generally open to the public. We grow plants in large quantities to be dispatched on pallets or on trolleys to our various customers, both locally and across the country.

We are looking for an organised, positive and hard working individual to join our team and to fill the role of Nursery Supervisor that has become available at our Eccleston site.

The successful applicant will be a positive individual who enjoys working as part of a team. They will work with the assistant nursery supervisor to play a key role in the management of production and dispatch of the plants. They will also communicate effectively with the team in the office who will advise on dispatch and logistics between the two sites.

**Skills required**

The following experience and skills are key to the role:

- Experience and knowledge in horticulture.
- Hard working, with a positive work ethic.
- Working with relevant members of staff to plan production.
- Manage a small team to work on the production and picking of orders.
- Assist and deal with any issues on site such as irrigation problems, machinery/technical issues.
- Working through and creating new systems for positive change and develop efficiency.
- Working safely with machinery such as forklifts, potting machine, tray fillers etc.
- Communicate effectively with all of the staff.
- Be an excellent team player.

**Hours and Salary**

40hr week Monday-Friday with overtime opportunities in the busy season at 1.25

The salary starts at £25,000

**Salary**: £25,000.00 per year
