An exciting opportunity has arisen to head up DLG Legal Services (DLGLS) - leading a function of 350 employees across Bristol, Leeds, and Bromley (South London).

This is a strategic and commercially driven role, but your ability to remove blockers and roll your sleeves up is just as important. DLG Legal Services is still in its early days - having moved under the Direct Line Group umbrella just over 7 years ago As the Head of DLG Legal Services, you’ll have the responsibilities of a Chief Operating Officer for the business - to develop and transform the business by identifying and developing further growth market as there’s so much more we can do, owning the P&L, and setting the long-term vision of the business. We want to become the Legal Services/legal expenses provider of choice.

**What else **you’ll** be doing**:

- Identifying ways to improve the customer experience and satisfaction with a focus on the use of technology, process improvements, and of course - excellent customer service
- Constantly monitoring performance and delivery against the strategic objectives. Openly share information throughout the business on performance and other relevant matters.
- Leading, motivating and inspiring the DLG Legal Services team, creating an inclusive culture and environment that supports high performance and continuous development of the team
- Establishing and maintaining an external profile - having deep and informed insights on the relevant external environment and the standing of the business in this context. Working with Group stakeholders to fully assess and present opportunities to support DLG offering enhanced products/services and in doing so define and refine with the Board the long-term sustainable strategy for the business.
- Ensuring the business is set up to meet the strategic objectives - sustaining an enduring, collaborative, high-performing team, and structure, by underpinning the future through the development of leadership talent and succession planning.

**What **we’re** looking for**:

- Preferably a qualified solicitor working within a legal practice or alternative business structure (ABS)
- Entrepreneurial and collaborative mindset, with experience developing business plans, strategies and monitored performance through running and growing a business
- Experience of managing a P&L
- Good understanding of legal services products and external market
