Tower Hamlets CAMHS

Early Intervention Psychosis (Bipolar and Psychosis) Team / Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) in Primary and Secondary Schools

**Band 8a**: 8 sessions (5/3) Permanent

Highly Specialist Clinical Psychologist

Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services in Tower Hamlets are developing. We want the very best services for our children and young people. That’s why we are looking for someone like you

This post is based primarily in our multidisciplinaryEarly Intervention Psychosis (EIS/Bipolar and Psychosis) Team, within a busy CAMHS. The EIS aims to deliver a timely and comprehensive assessment and treatment service, offering goal based episodes of care, to children and young people and families presenting with a first episode psychosis, including bipolar disorder, or who are at risk of developing a full psychotic illness.

You will also contribute to further developing the early intervention in psychosis service in the Borough. We have strong links with Tier 4 Inpatient Services (through the NCEL CAMHS Provider Collaborative) as well as to the Tower Hamlets Adult Early Intervention and Early Detection Service and all other core teams in TH CAMHS.

In addition, you will provide 3 sessions ofCBT supervision to the school-based Band 5 Education Wellbeing Practitioners of the Tower Hamlets Education Wellbeing Service (THEWS). The Mental Health Support Teams (MHSTs) in primary and secondary schools are part of the exciting, fast expanding trailblazer project funded by NHS England, Health Education England and partners with the aim of improving the mental health and wellbeing of children and young people in the community.

It will be of particular value if you join the service with knowledge, clinical expertise and experience of working with children and young people with early signs of or florid psychosis as well as in CBT for depression and anxiety disorders and parenting interventions for children with conduct problems. However, appropriate training opportunities will be supported.

Our service is based in a newly refurbished office in the vibrant Whitechapel and, as a result of the COVID pandemic, has adopted a hybrid clinical working model of direct face to face and remote working as appropriate. It embraces continual improvement and wellbeing of the staff as well as the management team, has a high degree of enthusiasm for quality improvement and working together with partner agencies to provide the highest quality service to the population we serve.

**We are looking for**: good communicators with energy, motivation and enthusiasm; the ability to work with individuals and families with complex difficulties and to work effectively with multi-disciplinary and multi-agency contexts; flexibility of approach; commitment to evidence-based practice; and the pursuit of the highest possible quality of service.

Please a more detailed job description and person specification please see attached.
