Service Care Legal are currently recruiting on behalf of a local authority based in the Essex area who are seeking a Housing Litigation Lawyer to join their team on a contract basis. Please find below further details of the role and the person specificationfor this position.

**ROLE**:Housing Litigation Lawyer
**LOCATION**: Essex
**CONTRACT**: Maternity cover - initial 6 months, potential to be ongoing
**RATE**:£40.00 to £45.00 per hour

Please note that this role would be hybrid working with occasional attendance at local courts.

**The Role**
- To manage a full caseload of housing law matters through to completion
- Matters are predominantly related to disrepair, anti-social behaviour and homelessness
- To assist more junior members of staff with technical matters when required

**The Person**
- A qualified Solicitor, Legal Executive or Barrister with a minimum of 12 months PQE
- Experienced in progressing full caseloads of Housing Law matters through to completion
- Previous local authority or housing association experience would be highly beneficial for this position
