The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

As a Trade Compliance Supervisor/Specialist, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

- Undertaking a wide variety of KCI Medical Customs and Trade Compliance related activities.
- Regular communication with external logistics providers and Customs Brokers.
- Collaborating with various local, regional and global business stakeholders to ensure compliance with relevant Government and Customs regulations
- Assisting in the continued development and support of KCI Medical Trade Compliance systems and programmes.
- Compiling reports and auditing for internal stakeholders as necessary.
- Ensuring training (Internal and External) and continuous development of at least one other team member
- Ensure regular one to one meetings to review development goals and wellbeing with at least one other team member
- Overseeing and ensuring all daily operational activities are completed in a timely manner and in accordance with KCI, HMRC, ROS & other UK & Ireland government departmental deadlines.

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, we require (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

- Significant experience in International trade is essential, primarily in Customs activities.
- Complete understanding of Incoterms 2020, Tariff classification, Preference and Customs valuation rules
- Comprehensive understanding of UK & Ireland Customs regulations including CFSP and Full Customs declarations in CDS.
- Proficient and confident in dealing with deferment / TAN (Ireland) account processes, including broker authorisation using UK Government Gateway portal and ROS Online.
- Able to conduct face to face and remote conversations with HMRC and/or other UK Government departments relating to customs and trade compliance matters.
- Understand and be able to process/request post customs declaration amendments relating to over or under declared duties and taxes either in relation to internal or external audits or audits by external Government bodies.
- Ability and flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and processes and function under pressure
- Excellent Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel)
- Must have excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

- Experience of working in a SAP GTS Customs self-filing environment, completing import CFSP and/or export declarations via GTS or other proprietry Customs systems is highly desirable.
- Good standard of education is required - A-level qualification or equivalent to include a minimum GCSE Maths and English
- Professional training in Customs matters by a recognised organisation such as Strong & Herd, BIFA etc.
- Full understanding of AEO certification and standards.
- Ability to work confidently within a team environment.

Work location: Hybrid - KCI Healthcare UK head office, Loughborough

Travel: 10% International and Domestic travel
