**Overview of Role**

To provide a holistic learning/teaching method utilising EFW as well as any other appropriate programmes developed, to a range of young people who are experiencing challenges in their lives in school, at home or in the community.

To support development, promotion and delivery of Stable Life in the Scottish Borders. This includes establishing and maintaining relationships with referring agencies, young people and their family/carers and potential volunteers.

Stable Life strives to work in partnership with local and national strategies to achieve the best outcomes for disadvantaged children and young people in the Scottish Borders. Our proven methods encourage young people to become successful learners, confident individuals, effective contributors and responsible citizens. **PRINCIPAL DUTIES**
- Participate in the review of referrals and plan group and 1:1 sessions.
- Deliver group and 1:1 sessions with young people.
- To provide opportunities for young people to become meaningfully engaged in the decision-making process around their care.
- Confidently liaise with referring agents, children, young people, families and carers with regard to the service.
- Maintain detailed casework files, keeping accurate records of young people’s needs and progress. Creating and managing own correspondence, reports, keyworking and diary notes in relation to this task.
- Participate in all internal management systems including team meetings, case management meetings, supervision and case reviews.
- Participate in the daily administration of the project ensuring that tasks are completed on time, that there is an efficient flow of communication and that all calls are actioned.
- Support the monitoring and evaluation process of Stable Life.
- Prepare written reports; attend professional meetings around the child or young person as appropriate.
- Liaise with visitors, welcome young people and promote the ethos of Stable Life.
- To supervise volunteers in sessions when required.
- To work with other services to develop opportunities for multi-agency working in order to engage with more marginalised young people.
- To access and attend relevant statutory training and practice development such as but not limited to Child Protection as required to fulfil Stable Life’s requirements.

**ADDITIONAL REQUIREMENTS**
- To observe all Stable Life Health & Safety requirements as well as all policies and procedures.
- To work with Stable Life policies in relation to Equal Opportunities and anti-discriminatory practice.
- To follow Stable Life’s Code of Conduct for staff, regarding workplace professionalism at all times.
- The flexibility to work out of office hours on occasion. This may include evening and weekend work and, on occasions, be at short notice.
- The post holder will receive regular recorded supervision sessions from their line manager.
- The post holder will also be required to undergo Emergency First Aid Training and undertake the duties of a First Aider.
- To undertake any additional and appropriate functions as required by the Chief Executive or Board of Directors.
