This is an exciting time to join NCL ICB, an organisation with an ambitious approach to delivering integrated health and care, driving population health improvements and tackling health inequalities for the benefit of our patients and residents.
The postholder will work collaboratively to shape the long-term strategy for NCL ICB and ensure delivery against ambitious targets that will benefit local people in Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey and Islington.
We are looking for someone who can bring in-depth knowledge and experience in the context of wider determinants of public health, and a deep understanding of population health and integrated care to this role.

**The ICB’s Non-Executive Members are required to**:

- Work collaboratively to shape the long-term, viable plan for the delivery of the functions, duties and objectives of the ICB and for the stewardship of public money.
- Ensure that the Board is effective in all aspects of its role and appropriately focused on the four core purposes - as above.
- Be champions of effective governance arrangements, collaborative leadership and effective partnership working, including with local government, NHS bodies and the voluntary, community and social enterprise sector.
- Support the Chair and the wider Board on issues that impact the organisations and workforce across the ICS.

NHS North Central London Integrated Care Board (NCL ICB) is a statutory body responsible for planning and allocating health and care resources to improve the lives of people in our five boroughs: Barnet, Camden, Enfield, Haringey, and Islington.
Our local population is large and diverse, with a wide range of health and care needs that are evolving all the time. We’re committed to improving the health and experience of our patients and residents, working with partners across the North Central London Integrated Care System (ICS) - including Councils, providers, GPs and voluntary and community organisations - to plan and deliver high quality, joined-up and accessible health and care services that put people first.

Our NCL Population Health and Integrated Care Strategy outlines our vision and priorities and will shape our focus as a system for the coming years.

The role holder will work alongside the ICB Chair, other non-executives, executive directors and partner members and as equal members of the ICB Board and be required to:

- Chair / form part of the membership of specific ICB Committees.
- Play a key role in relation to board governance and oversight.
- Bring independent and respectful challenge to the plans, aims and priorities of the ICB.
- Promote open and transparent decision-making, that facilitates consensus aimed to deliver exceptional outcomes for the population.

Personally, the role holder will bring a range of professional expertise and experience to the work of the Board - supporting the ICB’s delivery of its ambitions in relation to Population Health & Integrated Care and tackling health inequalities across North Central London and in particular have knowledge, experience and skills in relation to:

- The wider determinants of public health.
- Population health and integrated care.
- Providing insight from evidence, research, statistical or academically based perspectives in relation to healthcare and preventative healthcare.
- Strengthening health economies.
- Supporting wider evaluation of priorities and supporting programmes.

As an NHS leader and as a member of the ICB Board, the role holder will demonstrate a range of leadership competencies and contribute to a wide range of areas, including:
Strategy and Transformation
- Setting the vision, strategy and clear objectives for the ICB in delivering on the four core purposes (above), the triple aim of improved population health, quality of care and cost
- control.
- Aligning partners in transforming the Long-Term Plan, People Plan and Population Health and Integrated Care Strategy into real progress.

Partnership and Communities
- Promoting dialogue and consensus with local government and broader partners, to ensure effective joint planning and delivery for system working and mutual accountability.
- Supporting the success of the NCL Integrated Care Partnership (ICP) in establishing shared strategic priorities within the NHS, in partnership with local government, to tackle population health challenges and enhance services across health and social care.
