For this role you’ll be working 35 hours per week, worked 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday. We are looking for you to attend the office at least 2 days per week, the remainder of your week may be spent working from home.

**Essential**
- Post graduate qualification in a scientific research related area.
- Experience running a large scientific research programme of diverse content, within an applied environment.
- Experience using evidence and insights to inform and develop organisational strategy and services.
- Expert knowledge of scientific research methodology, standards and research ethics.
- Ability to analyse and evaluate complex information and present outputs and recommendations to a range of audiences.
- Effective budget management.

**Desirable**
- PhD or equivalent qualification in relevant discipline.
- Recognised project management qualification.
- Developed a network of contacts in academia, health, government, social services and the third sector across the UK and internationally
- Experience of working with people with vision impairment.
- Experience of working with volunteers.
