We believe that through clarity of vision, collaboration and dedication, we can achieve great things for our young people and for the staff who join us on our journey.

Our vision is simple, yet unashamedly ambitious: ‘To develop world-class students who have the belief in themselves that anything is possible and lead happy and successful lives.’ A key part of our plan for education is to ensure children become valuable and fully-rounded members of society who treat others with respect and tolerance, regardless of background.

**About the role**:
Are you:
Passionate about working with young people and the importance of education?
Able to relate to young people and support them to become independent, ambitious learners?
Dynamic and organised, with good attention to detail?
Someone with good communication, interpersonal and IT skills?
Passionate about reading, for education and for lifelong learning?
Possibly thinking about a career in teaching?

This is an excellent opportunity for someone who may be considering a career in supporting academic and pastoral progress. You may also be interested in progressing to a career in teaching but looking to first gain experience in schools. Training will be provided so no prior experience is necessary within a school setting although this would be advantageous.

You will demonstrate a high level of emotional intelligence, being able to operate as a supportive mentor whilst also helping to ensure that students meet our high expectations. As part of this there will need to be strong relationships built with the families to ensure the student is fully supported.

There will be essential administrative duties to support the 6th Form team and the Attendance Officer. Effective and proactive communication is needed with students and their parents.

We are an 11-18 Academy in the picturesque village of Great Missenden in the heart of the Chilterns. We have nearly 1100 students on roll including a successful and growing Sixth Form. Our staff tell us they genuinely feel like part of a team; a team who are striving to help each student flourish both academically and personally. Excerpts from our pleasing 2022 Ofsted inspection include:
Pupils told inspectors that the clear and fair behaviour system helps them to behave well.
Relationships between staff and pupils are strong.
Pupils' conduct around the school is orderly and calm.
Pastoral care puts the child at the heart of everything the school does

We take an evidence-informed approach to school improvement, only implementing what we feel will make the biggest difference to the lives and outcomes of our young people, being mindful of staff workload and well-being. Our Wellbee survey results place The Misbourne in the top 10% of schools for staff peer support, and top 20% for managing staff workload.

**About you**:
We can offer you:

- Students who are a pleasure to work with
- An experienced, friendly, and collaborative team of staff
- The unwavering support of teachers and leaders in ensuring the highest possible standards of student behaviour.
- A strongly led and well-resourced curriculum area
- A team who will help to guide your development and ensure that you are fully supported in every aspect of your work
- A flexible PPA that you can take at home every fortnight.
- An evidence-informed approach to school improvement, only implementing what we feel will make the biggest difference to the lives and outcomes of our young people, being mindful of staff workload.
- An academy that puts wellbeing at the top of their priorities
- A two-week October half term
