**Job description**

To ensure that orders are picked and packed accurately in accordance with specific customer requirements/company policies and processes. To ensure an efficient flow of Goods Inbound are checked and put away accurately and in a timely manner.

**Responsibilities**

**Leadership**
- Support the recruitment, induct, train, and retention of staff to the required number and calibre.
- To supervise operational processes to ensure that all customer orders are dispatched correctly, via scheduling people and equipment to optimise efficiency.
- To supervise processes to ensure all goods inbound are checked off and put away in an accurate, timely and efficient manner to meet the needs of customers outbound orders.
- Ensure all training requirements are met and regularly reviewed.
- Carry out any other reasonable tasks that are required by your line manager.
- To deputise where and when appropriate for your line manager.

**Health, safety and Environment**
- Manage staff with due regard to health and well-being at work.
- Ensure the warehouse and yard are kept clean and tidy at all times, that spillages are promptly cleared and waste minimised.
- Discharge duties in a safe manner in accordance with relevant legislation and Bunzl EHS policies and in accordance with safe working practices.
- Report hazards immediately.
- Use all equipment provided in accordance with safe working practices.

**Operational efficiency**
- Monitor and record accuracy levels from picking, liaise with Managers on errors and issues arising from pick errors.
- Supervise the loading of vehicles in sequence as directed by Driver Load Sheets.
- Ensure customer orders are on time in full as per company processes, ensuring compliance of SOP’s to meet customer requirements.
- Run Pick/Delivery Notes for all orders.
- Record pick/sort or pack line statistics (KPI’s) individually and collectively agreeing actions required regarding performance.
- Redeploy staff to other duties where spare time is allotted.
- Reduce discrepancies and pick errors through analysis of Sage.
- Investigate customer complaints, collating all required supporting documentation.
- Ensure stock replenishments are carried out in line with company process.
- Ensure stock transfers are carried out in line with company process.
- Monitor and address areas of poor performance or conduct, in liaison with Line Manager and in accordance with Company Procedures.
- Assist and support Line Manager in Health & Safety compliance and championing
- Make certain company safe working practice in all areas.

**Customer service**
- Ensure all staff focus on the customer needs using best practise/SOP’s.
- Instill a customer service ethic throughout the warehouse and ensure that queries are dealt with efficiently.
- Ensure customer service level meets company objectives, through measuring and taking corrective action where necessary.

**Skills and Qualifications**
- Essential Skills_
- Maths and English GCSE passes (or equivalent) at Grade C or above
- IT skills including use of Microsoft office packages
- Planning and organisation

- Excellent communication & numeracy skills

- Decision making
- 2years minimum experience in a similar role
