The Collection Logistics and Services Department at Cambridge University Library is seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and detail-focussed metadata assistant to undertake a limited project to convert the records for a print serials collection.

After the opening of the Library Storage Facility (LSF) in 2018 collections are being transferred, bringing enhanced bibliographic control and improved collection management. This is an exciting opportunity to join this dedicated team and play an important role in increasing access to this significant collection.

You will be undertaking the relinking of purchase order records in Alma and updating cataloguing records, and the physical transfer of the stock to the LSF using the Warehouse Management System. The collection consists of approximately 7500 records and it is scheduled to take sixteen months.

You will have experience in handling academic print journals and a working knowledge of Alma, along with good organisational, communication and interpersonal skills with an eye for detail and accuracy. You will also have a working knowledge of international standard MARC 21.
