**MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE POST**

**Main Purpose of the Job**

This post reports to one of the SBC Student Recruitment Coordinators and is responsible for high-quality, face to face initial contact activity for South Bank Colleges. The post holder will be based at one of the three SBC campuses but will be required to work across all campus locations as required; Brixton, Clapham and Nine Elms. There is no line management responsibility for this post.

The key function is to provide a professional and welcoming front of house service to college visitors, contractors, prospective students and current students, helping visitors with
Information, Advice and Guidance (IAG) and signposting customers as required. It will be very important to ensure that the reception area is welcoming, attractive and comfortable at all times and that, where appropriate, arrangements are made to meet individual needs.

As part of the Marketing and Student Recruitment Directorate the receptionist will also have a full understanding of the student recruitment process and pipeline stages and will fully support the student journey with IAG. They will be a highly professional front-line staff member accountable for a high-quality provision which delivers efficient and effective solutions that ensure excellent customer service.

The receptionist will have administrative tasks to undertake to support the admissions and enrolment functions and will support colleagues in the wider team as directed by their line
- manager.

Working efficiently and flexibly, this role plays a key part in the delivery of an excellent student and customer experience.

**DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES**
- Provide a high-quality, professional and welcoming front line service on reception, coordinating the front-of-house activities to offer exceptional customer service and to support cross-college teams.
- Set up and maintain information/display boards at regular intervals; daily/weekly/as required.
- Sign in visitors and supply them visitor badges, take photos for IDs, issuing student and staff IDs and taking payment for replacement IDs.
- Liaise and interact with internal departments, including curriculum and professional services with regard to scheduled appointments and meeting times for expected visitors.
- Inform visitors of the Safeguarding and Health & Safety procedures, as well as other key college policies, while they are on site and to communicate with courtesy and clarity.
- Provide high-quality administrative support and assistance, when required; filing, delivering and accepting post, organising the reception and front-of-house public area, keeping basic office supplies stocked and accessible as appropriate.
- Deliver a professional front-of-house telephony service ensuring calls are answered promptly and directed to appropriate members of staff, where applicable.
- Issue relevant paperwork to students and prospective students as required using internal data systems.
- Support customers with payments and other course related transactions as appropriate.
- Uphold and clearly demonstrate cross college standards in professional code of conduct and service excellence and drive forward a Student First culture across the

College, whilst ensuring all communications maintain brand integrity.
- Attend recruitment events and activities, such as open events, applicant/offer holder events, conversion activity, and enrolment. This will include evenings and weekends and will be pre-planned.
- Attend on-site/virtual training and meetings. Members of the Marketing and Student

Recruitment Directorate are expected to show a high level of support for colleagues by sharing joint tasks across the whole team when required, (fluctuations and cover) as well as managing their own workload efficiently and with a high degree of accuracy.
