Priory Dental is a friendly, independent dental practice in Wells. We have a great team of enthusiastic staff and are looking for an full time receptionist to join us from Mid May 2023. Applicants would ideally have customer service experience in a busy environment, ideally a dental or medical practice. The most important is your enthusiasm and enjoyment of working efficiently while providing excellent customer service as well as a willingness to learn. We will therefore consider exceptional applicants with a wider range of experience and might be able to consider a part time position (reduced days) for someone who has previously undertaken a similar role. The successful applicant will work alongside our existing team and report to the practice manager and assistant PM.

The rate of pay is negotiable depending on previous relevant experience.

Reception is the ‘nerve-centre’ of the practice and you will need to be self-motivated to work with other members of the team to solve problems, manage busy diaries and deal with patients attending the practice in person. This can mean juggling a number of tasks at the same time and requires excellent communication skills, a good level of IT literacy and an ability to build rapport with patients and other team members. You also need to be friendly and approachable at all times while maintaining a high level of professionalism in presenting yourself and the practice to the general public.

Hours of work are:
8.50am - 5.15pm Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday

8.50am - 7.15pm on a Thursday

8.50am - 4.10pm on a Friday

There is an unpaid lunchbreak on each working day.

Total working hours 38.5 hrs/ week.

The role includes:

- Engaging with our patients to help them feel welcome and relaxed within the practice
- Interacting with our patients over the phone and face-to-face to answer queries
- Gathering patient feedback and reviews
- Managing our appointment booking system to ensure it is efficient and accurate
- Completing appropriate paperwork in an organised and timely manner
- Be the first point of contact between our patients and the practice
- Various administration, filing and other tasks as required by the team
