As an Artic Transport Planner, you will play a critical role in coordinating the movement of goods and optimising the usage of our fleet of articulated trucks. Your primary objective will be to plan and execute the transportation of goods in the most efficient and cost-effective manner, while adhering to safety regulations and meeting customer demands.
**Responsibilities**:
- Plan and coordinate the transportation of goods using our fleet of artic trucks, considering factors such as delivery schedules, load capacities, and driver availability.
- Optimise route planning to minimise fuel consumption, reduce transit times, and enhance overall operational efficiency.
- Monitor and track vehicles to ensure timely deliveries, and proactively address any potential delays or disruptions.
- Collaborate with internal teams, including HR, Training, and drivers, to ensure seamless execution of transportation plans.
- Liaise with external stakeholders, such as suppliers and customers, to manage expectations and provide updates on deliveries.
- Conduct regular analysis of transportation data to identify opportunities for improvement and cost-saving initiatives.
- Maintain compliance with all relevant transportation laws, regulations, and safety standards.
- Actively contribute to continuous improvement efforts within the transportation department.
**Qualifications and Skills**:
- Transport Management CPC.
- Proven experience in transport planning, preferably with articulated trucks or large vehicles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to think critically in high-pressure situations.
- Excellent organisational and time management abilities, with the capacity to handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Proficiency in transportation management software and route planning tools.
- Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.
- A deep understanding of transportation laws, regulations, and safety protocols.
- Flexibility to adapt to changing priorities and work in a fast-paced environment.
