The Children’s Society has been helping children and young people in this country for over 130 years. We run local services that support children when they are at their most vulnerable and in desperate need of help. We’re there for children, every step of the way.

**This role sits within our Youth Impact domain, which works to provide one-to-one support for children who need support. Your role will be to help us maintain and develop innovative practice to support our work in our services around the country.**

**TYPE OF PERSON WE'RE LOOKING FOR**

We are currently looking for a motivated, dynamic and driven individual to join our team.

A key part of this role will be your ability to listen and understand Children and Young people, whilst being able to identify risks and safeguarding needs where appropriate.

**About the Service**

The Children's Society deliver the Shropshire Beam Service. We offer a truly different way of delivering access to mental and emotional health support. We don't want young people to feel like they have to reach crisis point to get the help they need. We don't want young people to feel like they don't deserve a place to go because their worry is 'too small,’ or that they have to wait to receive the care they deserve.

Shropshire Beam provides brief intervention for children and young people from 0 - 25years to get immediate help and support and offers support and learning for professionals and parent/carers. Children and young people can access through self-referral online or drop in to one of the locations currently running drop-ins which reduces the need for waiting list. The service allows for face to face sessions or a call back phone/video call in limited circumstances.

**KEY SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES**

In order to be successful in this role, you must have:

- A genuine passion and working knowledge of young people and mental health.
- Be energetic, adaptable, able to offer innovation and ideas to support this evolving service.
- Have a background or worked in Emotional health and wellbeing, Health Care, Education, Youth Work or Social work
- Be able to provide direct low level therapeutic support that is person centered.
- Be able to work at various locations
- Be a to work some evenings & weekends
