**Salary: £28,530 - £30,375 pro rata**

**Location: Clough Road, Hull**

**Hours: 19.5 hours**

**Contract: Permanent**

You will oversee the Force Medical Examiners (FME) providing Forensic Medical services across the Force. As well as assist in reviewing, assessing and implementing new and changing Criminal Justice Unit policy with regard to Healthcare and Custody.

**Role Requirements**:

- Oversees the on going development and training of existing, and future, Health Care Professionals retained by Humberside Police to deliver forensic medical services.
- Negotiate changes with the healthcare service provider with regards the existing contracts when necessary.
- Undertakes an appraisal and monitoring system for FME’s to ensure that the standard of provision is maintained and improved and that any development needs are addressed with the service supplier.
- Develops and maintains management information systems to provide accurate and timely performance indicators regarding forensic medical services.
- Acts as the single point of contact for all issues relating to forensic medical provision.
- Attends the Regional FME Management Board and the Forensic Medical and Custody Steering Group to keep up to date.
- Attends meetings Nationally and Regionally on behalf of the Policy Unit with regard Healthcare and Custody.
- Undertakes assessment and review pertaining to medical and health care policy and procedure.

**Skills and experience required?**
- Educated to A Level standard or equivalent.
- Well developed, competent oral and written communication skills.
- Previous experience of working within an inter-agency partnership arrangement.
- Previous experience of building and maintaining constructive working relationships with others inside and outside the organisation.
- Previous experience of supervising staff.
- Proven ability to undertake research/assess the needs of individuals.
- Oral and written communication skills in order to liaise with people at all levels internal and external.
- Has the ability to develop and manage systems, protocols and procedures across service and specialist boundaries.
