Project Selborne is a Transformational Training programme with a strategic goal of modernising Royal Navy training to deliver “better trained sailors to the front line faster”.

This is a 2 year fixed term contract.

**Job title**:
Safety, Health & Environment (SHE) Programme Lead

**What you’ll be doing**:

- Providing overall Safety, Health and Environment (SHE) management for activities within the RNSTC, including the day to day liaison with site management and site SHE teams, ensuring that compliance in all areas is the minimum and that we seek to exceed expectations in all areas
- Identifying and controlling HSE risks in conjunction with key stakeholders through site inspections and audits. Accountable for reporting identified incidents, hazards and risks through the programme management mechanisms
- Establishing and chairing SHE meetings to reduce or mitigate identified risks to support the RNSTC programme
- Day to day management of contractor activities for the RNSTC in conjunction with RN Site Safety Lead ensuring risk assessments, method statements, approval permits to work and access controls are in place and meet required Capita standards to mitigate any on site incidents
- Providing SME guidance on Health & Safety (H&S) training for Capita employees including induction H&S training
- Leading the development and implementation of a fire & emergency plan for RNSTC ensuring compliance with statutory, MOD and Capita policies. This will include processes for building evacuation plans, site emergency response teams (chemical, nuclear and fire) and a testing regime for the upkeep of safety equipment. Identification, training and process to have correct quota of fire marshalls, first aiders, mental health first aiders and defib operators on site during operational hours of RNSTC

**What we’re looking for**:

- Appropriate qualification - i.e NEBOSH/CMIOSH/IEMA
- Relevant industry experience - MOD/Royal Navy/Chemicals industry/automotive industry
- Stakeholder management
- Previous experience of conducting SHE investigations
- Self-sufficient, reliable, logical minded (Must be able to ‘think outside of the box’)
- Ability to work to processes

**About Project Selborne**:
Project Selborne is a wide scale, 12 year transformation of Royal Navy Training. The contract worth GBP 1 billion was awarded in December 2020 to a consortium led by Capita to deliver and modernise training for the RN. The consortia of partners known as Team Fisher includes Raytheon UK, Elbit Systems UK, Fujitsu and University of Lincoln together with 14 other UK-based suppliers.
