**Your Impact**
Within our Water, Energy and Environment business our Carbon and Energy Consulting Group advises clients on the challenges and opportunities regarding climate change and sustainability issues including: carbon accounting, policy and regulatory support; net zero carbon strategic roadmaps; carbon neutrality; decentralised, decarbonised generation and energy transition; and the circular economy.
Our wider Energy and Sustainability teams comprise in excess of 1,000 staff based predominantly in the UK, but with significant global reach across our offices.
**About the opportunity**
Jacobs is looking for an experienced technical consultant, passionate about climate change issues and driving the opportunities to meet carbon targets and global net zero targets. In this role you will provide support to our large portfolio of public and private sector clients covering a range of methods and tools noted below in the Requirements.
In the role you will be responsible for delivering projects and workstream tasks, providing advice, technical expertise and innovative approaches relating to climate change and sustainability. There are also wider opportunities for project management, technical leadership, business case development, scoping commercial propositions through sales and client relationship management.
**Primary Role Responsibilities**
Given the breadth of opportunities in the team for various clients, the diversity of roles will be exciting and include tasks such as:
- Developing and updating carbon models and GHG inventories following set reporting protocols
- Delivering carbon reporting projects, including progress reporting to clients
- Collection, analysis and interpretation of datasets
- Supporting organisations and projects to develop carbon reduction and net zero carbon strategies
- Engaging with a range of stakeholders including at all levels (internal networks, clients, regulators etc.)
- Maintaining knowledge of energy/carbon policy developments, carbon accounting, methodology changes, energy markets and wider energy/sustainability issues
- Assessing performance to target (energy and carbon metrics), and analysing and communicating the cause of any variances
- Analysing data, prepare visual outputs of results in an engaging and meaningful way for our clients.
- Support business development, market research, bid preparation and work winning in the above areas.
