Early Years Practitioner

Amcol Scotland Ltd are committed to the care and welfare of young people in a childcare environment and are seeking to recruit an Early Years Practitioner at Bellwood Nursery. Bellwood Nursery is a purpose-built establishment registered to provide care for 147 children and is located in the Carfin area of North Lanarkshire.
Applicants **must** possess a relevant qualification to be considered for this role such as HNC Childhood Practice, SCQF Level 7 in Social Services Children and Young People or NNEB, as required by the SSSC for registration purposes.
**Responsibilities**
- Develop a careful and creative program suitable for preschool children
- Employ a variety of educational techniques (storytelling, educational play, media etc.)to teach children
- Observe each child to help them improve their social competencies and build self-esteem
- Encourage children to interact with each other and resolve occasional arguments
- Guide children to develop their artistic and practical capabilities through a carefully constructed curriculum (identify shapes, numbers or colours, do crafts etc.)
- Supervise children to ensure they are safe at all times
- Track children’s progress and report to parents
- Communicate with parents regularly to understand the children’s background and psyche
- Collaborate with other staff, outside agencies etc.
- Maintain a clean and tidy working area, consistent with health and safety standards
**Skills**
- Proven experience as an early years practitioner with young children
- Excellent understanding of national guidance and documents
- Familiarity with health and safety procedures within nurseries
- Excellent communication and instructional skills
