**JOB DESCRIPTION -** Ensuring the grounds, courts, buildings, fixtures and fittings, equipment and utility services of the Club are maintained in good working and visual order, including:
**Grounds**
- Maintaining, repairing, mowing, trimming and clearing the grass, hedges, paths and fences.
- Routinely collecting and clearing litter etc.
- Keeping outdoor furniture clean tidy, and available according to season.
- Get and supervise casual assistance when agreed with the Club Manager
- Be the principle keyholder of the facility and manage access facilities.

**Tennis Courts**
- Keep 18 tennis courts in good playing order in consultation with Club Manager.
- Advise the Club Manager daily on court conditions
- Clear leaves etc. Keep sand evenly distributed, sometimes using the club tractor and its attachments. Maintain stock of sand and add extra when required.
- Repair/replace court nets and surrounding stop-netting.
- Clean/replace court floodlight lamps/lamp components as required using access towers or hired cherry-picker
- Prepare courts & grounds for tournaments and events

**Squash Courts**
- Maintain oversight on condition of courts, lighting, heating, and ventilation with guidance from squash coaches and players.
- Effect minor repairs/replacements as appropriate, or agree with Club Manager about obtaining expert help where necessary.

**Buildings**
- Maintain the fabric of all buildings on the site in good functional and visual condition.
- Effect repairs/replacements where possible. Obtain quotes from appropriate tradesmen where not and agree to place order in conjunction with Club Manager.
- Carry out minor painting decorating & maintenance
- Assist the office and bar/kitchen with moving and storing furniture and supplies

**Equipment and services**
- Carry out all routine maintenance on non-office machinery and equipment and utilities. Organise routine PAT testing as scheduled.
- Trouble-shoot all problems on lighting, heating, water, drainage, power & gas systems. Likewise with all electrical and mechanical equipment except that in the office. Repair/replace where possible. Obtain quotes from appropriate tradesmen where not and agree to place order in conjunction with Club Manager.

**Liaison with Officers of the Club**

You will be expected to liaise with the Club Manager, the President of the Club, and the Grounds and Maintenance Committee, on a regular basis regarding projects needed or being considered by the Committee and to input into the desirability and feasibility of those projects.

**JOB REQUIREMENTS**

**Essential Requirements**
- Applicants should be able to:

- Operate and routinely maintain mid-size gardening power tools and equipment, and drive a tractor
- Perform a range of DIY style tasks indoors and out, such as small scale painting and decorating, repairs, replacing lamps, fuses etc
- Work safely with heavy equipment at heights up to 7m
- Understand the basic layouts, operations and systems relating to supply and distribution of power, gas, water, central heating and drainage.
- Interact effectively with colleagues on the Club staff, Club members, outside tradesmen and some suppliers.
- Be able to work independently

**Desirable Requirements**

Applicants should have the ability to fault-find, or effectively describe to tradesmen, faults and symptoms in systems relating to supply and distribution and supply of power, gas, water, central heating and drainage. The applicant should interact pleasantly, politely and positively with all staff, Club members and visitors.
