Tom Moorhouse & Son, based in Honley, Huddersfield, are part of EFS Global which is a fast-growing Logistics group with over 30 depots throughout the UK. We are currently recruiting for Transport Planner, to join our experienced team.

The Transport Planner is a key member of the transport team and primarily responsible for overseeing the smooth day to day planning of HGV vehicles throughout the UK.

Tom Moorhouse & Son is a family orientated business which was established in 1887, the 4th and 5th generations still work within the business today. It is a small office so the people all have a mentality of pulling together to support each other.

**Role Responsibilities**:

- Overseeing the daily route planning of general haulage work, throughout the UK. We run up to 20 vehicles at any given time.
- Liaising with existing customers and third parties to arrange deliveries and collections, making sure all our goods are delivered in a timely and efficient manner, ensuring high expectations are constantly met.
- Monitoring workload via internal systems to ensure vehicles are assigned to general freight and work prioritised.
- Planning loads and routes that are commercially beneficial to the company, searching internal platforms looking for jobs to keep all vehicles moving.
- Carry out driver debriefs and training, ensuring that our transport operation is running both safely and cost-effectively.
- Managing drivers and monitoring their performance.
- Escalate details of vehicle accidents, defects or any fleet issues to senior management.
- Act as holiday cover within the office for another position, so you will have an opportunity to learn various parts of the office functions and develop your skill set.

**Role Requirements**:

- Experience within pallet distribution and/or general haulage planning.
- Class 1 licence and FLT licence would be beneficial, but not essential.

**Working Hours**:

- Full time, permanent. Monday to Friday.

**Salary**:

- £25,000-£30,000 per annum dependent on experience.
