**CakeDrop is on the lookout for a Bakery Assistant to become a member of our small but growing team.**

We are a specialist bakery that creates unique branded and themed treats for businesses. Voted ‘Supplier of the year’ three years running, our customers include Disney, HelloFresh, LADBible and Meta.

As a Bakery Assistant, you’ll be responsible for assisting the process to make and decorate treats for a variety of corporate occasions - from workplace events to brand activations. Every brief is unique and no two days are the same.

You’ll follow daily production schedules with specific tasks and instructions given by our Production Manager, creating treats such as cupcakes, brownies, cookies, and biscuits. You’ll have the opportunity to work with different kinds of frostings including buttercream, ganache and glaze, as well as sprinkle mixes and handcrafted custom decorations.

**Responsibilities**
- Measure and weigh ingredients accurately according to recipes and production requirements.
- Assist in mixing and preparing dough, batters and frostings
- Assist with cutting, shaping and decorating a variety of treats
- Follow the daily baking schedule in order to meet production timelines
- Feed back on processes in order to improve efficiencies
- Keep all kitchen work surfaces (counters, sinks, stoves, walls) clean and sanitized
- Sweep and mop floors at the beginning and ending of shifts
- Be ready to clean up spills to avoid hindering operations
- Wash cookware, utensils and cutlery fast to keep them in rotation
- Keeping the food and supply storage areas organized and correctly arranged and labelled in line with health and safety guidelines
- Complete daily Health and Safety checklists

**Requirements**:

- At least 1 year experience within a professional bakery or food production environment
- Multi-skilled with experience working with different types of products and equipment
- Ability to multitask and work well under pressure
- Experience following scheduled and working to deadlines
- Tidy and organised with knowledge of stock rotation and labelling practices
- Ability to work in a small and growing team
- Fluency in English - spoken and written
- Solid understanding of food safety and HACCP Principles
- Ability to commute to Streatham
- Knowledge of different baking techniques desirable
- Piping skills desirable but not essential

**Job Type**: Zero hours contract

Pay: £10.00-£11.50 per hour

Schedule:

- Day shift
- Flexitime
- Monday to Friday
- No weekends

Ability to commute/relocate:

- London, SW16 6LE: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

**Experience**:

- Bakery: 1 year (preferred)
